Dr. Burcu Uner is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington University School of Medicine, specializing in treatments for rare diseases, cancer, and ocular diseases through innovative cell therapies and targeted drug delivery systems. With a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from Istanbul University and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Marmara University, Dr. Uner has authored over 50 publications. Her significant research includes enhancing mitochondrial co-localization in pancreatic tumors and developing nanoformulations for corneal delivery. She has led key projects like the TUBITAK-1001 funded cellular-based targeted drug delivery systems and the Horizon 2020 research on plant-derived biomolecules for cancer treatment. Her technical expertise spans analytical methods such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and HPLC, nanocarrier formulation, and cell therapy. Dr. Uner is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS)and the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS), and she volunteers for community services including LifeWise St. Louis and Springboard to Learning.
